It is our song, the one that represents every Canadian from coast to coast and across “the True North strong and free.” 2020 celebrates the 40th anniversary of the National Anthem Act, and the day when O Canada officially became Canada’s song.
Design:
The reverse design by Lisa Thomson Khan marks the 40th anniversary of the National Anthem Act, which designated O Canada as the national anthem of Canada. An engraved musical staff with the opening notes of O Canada is the focus, with a cluster of maple leaves to remind us that this is Canada’s song.
