History
Operational since 1990 in the field of coin collecting, Monnaie Collection Royale has accomplished national recognition in developing and promoting the Royal Canadian Mint products, for which we are the official distributors.
Furthermore, we have developed a personalized product design approach adapted to client needs. We already have to our credit a wide-range of projects that include coins designed :
In 1991, for the Village d’Émilie, a thematic outcome from the TV series “Les Filles de Caleb” (6,000 trade dollars).
In 1994 for the prestigious Kinsmen Club (cystic fibrosis) honouring its founder Al Rogers in commemoration of their 75th anniversary of foundation (8,000 trade dollar).
In 1992 for the 125th anniversary of the Confederation where 108,000 collector’s sets were created.
For the 1999 and 2000 millennium where 300,000 collector’s sets were distributed worldwide.
In 2000, Monnaie Collection Royale created a 10-cent Desjardins coin commemorating the Desjardins Mouvement’s 100th anniversary. Its distribution of 70,000 copies throughout Canada was recognized as a phenomenal success.
In 2004, a 5$ pure silver collection coin with a numbered certificate of authenticity (15,000 coins) commemorating the 150th anniversary of Alphonse Desjardins has been especially authorized by the R.C.Mint / M.C.Royale.
In 2008 a special edition collector’s card to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Quebec City has been authorized by the Royal Canadian Mint and created exclusively for this great historical celebration. A commemorative $2.00 coin has been distributed only within the Caisse Desjardins network in collaboration with the Mint and our entreprise.
In 2009, 1534 of $ 20 pure silver coin commemorating the 475th anniversary of the arrival of Jacques Cartier in Gaspe (1534-2009). This mintage is the lowest strike for a commemorative coin ever produced by the Royal Canadian Mint since 1908! Monnaie Collection Royale has participated in a unique way as the initiator and promoter of this realisation and has the exclusive rights in selling this “rare and prestigious” collector’s piece. We are proud to have contributed in a tangible way to this festivity and to have received the cooperation of the Royal Canadian Mint who has authorized its production.
In 2015, the achievement of 10,000 coins (trade dollar) 30mm nickel plated, carefully struck in favor of the organization of the Festival Western de St-Tite who receives close to 600,000 visitors, the biggest event of its kind in the country.
